The Redbone™ by Hurricane brand is our popular line of high-performance saltwater inshore and offshore rods used by anglers coast-to-coast. Years ago we joined the fight against the killer disease cystic fibrosis through the Redbone™ Celebrity Tournament Series. Lifelong fisherman Gary Ellis founded the tournament when his daughter Nicole, now a twenty-something adult, was diagnosed with the disease as a baby. Over the years the tournament has attracted celebrities and popular sports figures alike and has raised over $10 million to help fund the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition to the tournament proceeds, a percentage of all Redbone™ by Hurricane rod sales are donated by South Bend directly to the Foundation.

In 2009 Ready 2 Fish™, in collaboration with Bright Pink® created two pink, all-inclusive combos designed for female anglers. Featuring contemporary graphics and colors these combos have been created to get the modern female to enjoy fishing while helping the Bright Pink® cause of educating women about the risks of breast and ovarian cancer. Bright Pink® is the national not-for-profit breast and ovarian cancer organization focusing on prevention and early detection for high-risk young women.

Bright Pink®, founded in 2007 by Lindsay Avner, a young women, who at 23 underwent a preventative double mastectomy after testing positive for a genetic mutation that put her at high risk of developing breast cancer. Bright Pink's members act as advocates for the health of all women and focus on providing support and information about the prevention and risk of breast and ovarian cancer. South Bend is committed to help Bright Pink's cause by donating a portion of every pink R2F® product purchase directly to the Bright Pink® organization.
